Annual Coyote Howl & Car Show

Annual Coyote Howl & Car Show

Event Dates: May 19, 2012

About this Event

A parade, car show, great music and local shopkeepers overflowing into the streets along with the truly unique Coyote Howling Contest make this a great day in historic Coulterville... the gold rush town that refused to die!  Come on out and exercise your vocal cords and give it a try...no experience required!  This annual event that takes place in May is fitting for the town located at the base of the John Muir Highway.

Great vibes will fill the day and the night with free music during the day and another great band at the Coyote Howl Dinner. The parade starts at 10 am, Howling Contest starts at 2:30 pm. Daytime events are all free with free admission to the car show, to the Coulterville Park and ample free parking. The dinner dance starts at 5:30 pm; tickets will be available about 6 weeks in advance and if space remains available, they will be sold at the History Center booth in the park, along with raffle tickets.

All proceeds from the event are used to operate the private, non-profit Coulterville Museum.

Admission Fee (if any)

There is free admission to both the Coulterville Park and the Car Show. No cover charge to listen to great music all day long in the park. You can bring a picnic basket or munch on food and refreshment from one of the reasonably priced vendors or mosey on over to the Coulter Cafe...sit in the cafe's garden and you will hear music wafting your way.

Cost of participation in the various events is minimal. Howling Contest entry fee, for any of the three categories, adult, pup, and pup-pak (group of kids) is just $5. Entries accepted in the park until shortly before the 2:30 pm start. Registration for the parade is only $10 (for a group of 1 or 100), for the Car Show, including the parade $20; a 10' by 10' space is just $25, sponsorships begin at just $75.
