Annual Mother Lode Round Up Parade and Rodeo

The Mother Lode Round-Up is like a hometown reunion. It begins with "The Cowgirl Luncheon" and “The Great Steak Barbecue” on the opening weekends. Then “saddle up” for a week-long experience of Cowboy and Small Town tradition that winds up with the Round-Up Parade (one of the largest in California!) and Rodeo on Mother’s Day weekend.

The Mother Lode Round Up Rodeo is a two day competition with rodeo action Saturday & Sunday, beginning at 2pm on both days. The Round Up Rodeo is a real bronco-bustin’ Rodeo where rodeo stars compete in Bareback Riding, Barrel Racing, Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling and Team Roping.

Over 350 of pro rodeo's finest cowboys and cowgirls are attracted to the event. The weekend attracts over 20,000 rodeo fans and visitors every year. The Round-up Rodeo has always been respected as one of California's finest yearly events. The Rodeo begins on Saturday at 2pm, after the parade crowd heads over to the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. Then, on Saturday night, hats will be ‘bobbin’ and boots-a-stompin’ as the first day of Rodeo is topped off with a Cowboy dance, at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds with country music from California Cowboys.

This is a must. One of the best things that happens in Sonora and Jamestown. Good food, lots of fun, bring the kids and enjoy the weekend.
