Nestled in lush forest at the 4,000 foot elevation, Arnold Meadowmont Lodge is your friendly and affordable gateway to hiking, fishing, wine tasting and romantic weekend getaways. Arnold Lodge is just minutes from Calaveras Big Trees State Park, the town of Murphys, foothill Gold Country, and the Stanislaus National Forest. Meadowmont Lodge is conveniently located on Highway 4 on the West side of the Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway.

Arnold is named after Bob and Bernice Arnold, who, in 1927 opened the Ebbetts Pass Inn. Prior to that, the community consisted of two large ranches where logging was the main industry. The inn served as a stop for people traveling along the Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway route as well as lodging for those visiting nearby Calaveras Big Trees State Park. In 1928, Camp Wolfeboro was established nearby as a Boy Scout camp and continues to be in operation today.

Arnold Meadowmont Lodge allows you to enjoy the variety of recreational options the Sierra Nevada mountains has to offer with the comfort of a home away from home to return to after a day of fun.The Lodge is located just minutes from the eclectic town of Murphys, with its wonderful shops and restaurants. Also within easy driving distance you’ll find more than two dozen acclaimed foothill wineries. And following Highway 4 out of Arnold you’ll explore spectacular old-growth forests of Calaveras Big Trees State Park and the beautiful Stanislaus National Forest, home to the Carson Iceberg Wilderness and some of the finest hiking and fishing in the entire Sierra Nevada mountains.

During the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons, recreational opportunities include nearby biking, kayaking, fishing, rock climbing, and even tours of local caverns.

Driving Directions

From Sacramento
Take I-5 or Hwy 99 South to Stockton, then Hwy 4 East to Angels Camp, continue East to Arnold. Alternate route take Hwy 49 South through gold country to Angels Camp, then Hwy 4 East to Arnold.

From Bay Area
Take I-580 East to I-205 East, then Hwy 120 East to Sonora, then Hwy 49 North to Angels Camp, and then Hwy 4 East to Arnold.

From Southern California
Take I-5 or Hwy 99 North towards Stockton, then Hwy 120 East to Sonora, then Hwy 49 North to Angels Camp, and Hwy 4 East to Arnold. Alternate route take Hwy 49 North through gold country to Angels Camp, then Hwy 4 East to Arnold.
