Areas of Service and Expertise

ARTA was founded in 1963 with the goal of exposing as many people as possible to the values of wild rivers and pristine canyons. They are inspired by the belief that once exposed, people will treasure and protect these resources for future generations. As the first outfitter to offer river trips throughout the West, ARTA operates on a wide selection of rivers and has a generous choice of launch dates. They provide outstanding guide service, good equipment and a casual, family atmosphere on every trip.

Types of Experiences and Trips Provided

ARTA offers single and multi-day trips on rivers in 5 western states: the Tuolumne, Merced, South Fork and Middle Fork American in California; the Rogue and Illinois in Oregon; the Selway, Middle Fork and Main Salmon in Idaho; and the Yampa and Green (Lodore and Desolation Canyons) in Utah and Colorado. They also offer multiple levels of guide training (junior, pro and rowing) in Oregon, California, Idaho and Utah.
