Autumn Art Studios Tour

Rick and Janet Nicholson, blown glass artists

Event Dates: November 08, 2013 - November 10, 2013

Description of Event

The Autumn Art Studios Tour is a two-day, self-guided open studios tour, which takes place on the second weekend of November each year.

Placer County is a natural habitat for artists, who translate the Sierra Nevada foothill vistas, wildlife, historic buildings and gardens into a multitude of media, including paintings, pastels, photography, prints, ceramics, jewelry, glass, sculpture, fiber arts, wood, and mixed media.  Studio tour-goers see a diversity of artists tools, equipment and processes in an intimate studio settings. Many studios are surrounded by forest land, pastoral vistas or lovely gardens. Access is guided by an easy-to-use Studios Tour catalog and map. Conversations with the artists often result in lasting relationships, as many become life-long collectors of art made in the Sierra Nevada through this exceptional educational experience.

The Fall edition of PlacerArts’ Perspectives arts news magazine is the official tour guide for the Autumn Art Studios Tour. It contains a vignette on each participating artist and a map with locations and directions to each studio on the tour. For tickets and to obtain the special edition of Perspectives (with map), please visit www.PlacerArts.org.
