The entire El Dorado County region is popular and special emphasis is put on the sense of meandering people experience on the backroads. There are many destinations to enjoy, offering a diversity that is extraordinary.
Backroads Barn is a second-generation continuation of the former "The Barn in Historic El Dorado". We have re-opened on the beautiful grounds of The Davies Family Inn, located five miles east of the Gold Rush Town of Placerville. As you travel the backroads of this exceptional region you will find history and adventure deep in the heart of the Motherlode on the old stage route to “Newtown.” The rustic elegance of this mid-1800’s era log cabin homestead has been preserved and enhanced by the Davies family to promote the look and feel of frontier living with the convenience of modern times. The beauty of this setting speaks softly of a revitalizing tranquility, unique in our fast paced world. There are antiques, farm and garden, re-purposed and artisan goods, nestled in what was a trading post.
Shopping, antiquing, adventure, sightseeing, found objects, destinations, gateway to recreation, dining, wine/beer/distillery tasting, agri-tourism, the Quilt Trail Project and more can be experienced and enjoyed.
