Housed in the original home of John and Mary Gardner built in 1880, the namesake of the town of Gardnerville, you'll find Battle Born Wine. The quaint two story building is located in the downtown corridor amidst other historical landmarks like the JT, the historian, and Sharkey's casino to name a few.
The shop itself is a fine retail wine shop that carries a massive variety of niche wines and is located among a cornucopia of small mom and pop shops that all add variety and flavor set to a majestic mountain back-drop.
Battle Born Wine piecemealed its logo from the state flag, as young, entreprenuer husband and wife owners Troy and Megan Phillips are both born and raised in the area. The Phillips team opened the shop in 2007, Troy then 24 and Megan 21, were both graduates from UNR and TMCC.
The Phillips host several events year round that pair tastings with the cultural heritage of Gardnerville like the Thirsty Third Thursday Wine Walk, beer, wine and spirit tastings, wine classes, and Carson Valley Days Tasting. Visit the website for event details.
The shop is open year round Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 am to 7 pm.
