Event Dates: May 25, 2010 - May 30, 2010
Every year since 1969 during the week prior to Memorial Day, the town of Bishop comes alive with the annual six day presentation of Mule Days. Bishop Mule Days is the major event of the year for the area and is the premier mule show in the United States. It brings approximately 25,000 attendees to the area and millions of dollars to the community and our supporters. These visitors come from all over the United States and many foreign lands. More than 700 volunteers give life to the celebration. What began as an informal gathering and a test of skills of the outfitters and packers of the region has grown to a fun filled world class event. Mule Days is part mule show, part test of skills, and part Wild West show. It is an event the likes of which are held no where else in the world. Over the six days of the event there are 14 shows featuring over 700 mules with their trainers, riders, and packers. The competitors, hardcore aficionados, are determined to prove "anything a horse can do a mule can do better". Events include English jumping, dressage, team roping, western riding, and racing to name a few. The pack scrambles, chariot racing, musical tires, and other unique events are not to be missed.
