Black Bear Inn

Spring time at Black Bear Inn

Beautiful sequoias and manicured gardens surround the Black Bear Inn located along Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway in Arnold, California. Innkeepers Bruce and Wendi Davison are dedicated to providing guests with a unique experience that combines delicious cuisine prepared by Bruce, along with a casual style, first class service and accommodations in the breathtaking Sierra Nevada mountains.

The town of Arnold is part of historic Calaveras County. Calaveras County gained notoriety in 1865 when Mark Twain wrote "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" during his time spent exploring Arnold which was a small logging community. It was not until 1927 when Bob and Bernice Arnold moved to town and opened Ebbetts Pass Inn that Arnold got its name. The inn served as a major stop for those traveling along Ebbetts Pass as well as accommodations for those visiting nearby Calaveras Big Tree State Park.

Today, Bruce and Wendi provide a similar service to Arnold. Known for its exceptional customer service and charming atmosphere, the Black Bear Inn and the surrounding sequoia wilderness will make your visit splendid.
