Blue Oaks Recreation Area

One and a half miles of Don Pedro Lake shoreline is readily accessible from the developed roads, parking lots and campsites of the Blue Oaks Recreation Area. An additional three and a half miles of undeveloped shoreline is also accessible via the Shoreline trail that begins within the Blue Oaks Recreation Area and currently ends at Buzzard Point. Enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, camping, hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing and wakeboarding. Boat rentals, fishing tackle, food, supplies and boat motor repair are all available at the Lake Don Pedro Marina which is two miles east on Bonds Flat Road. Blue Oaks has a two lane launch ramp with two courtesy docks to facilitate boat launch and retrieval.
Fishing and swimming are not permitted from the launch ramp and its courtesy docks. The Shoreline trail and the A area campground are open year round, the B, C and D area campgrounds are open May through September only. Use of the Recreation Area is subject to all applicable laws.
Hwy. 120 east, right turn onto Hwy. J-59 (La Grange Rd.), go 15 miles south, turn left on Bonds Flat Rd., go 2 miles then turn left into Blue Oaks Recreation Area.
Hwy. 132 east, left turn onto Hwy. J-59 (La Grange Rd.), go 7 miles north, turn right on Bonds Flat Rd., go 2 miles then turn left into Blue Oaks Recreation Area.
$7.00 per day vehicle use fee and $7.00 per day motorized vessel use fee required upon entering Blue Oaks Recreation Area. No fee required to launch non-motorized vessels except for sailboats exceeding 8 feet in length. See website for camping information and fees.
