Founded in 1975, the Brewery Arts Center (BAC) is one of Reno-Lake Tahoe's most active cultural centers. Located in the historic district in the foothills of Carson City, the BAC hosts dozens of events each year in multiple facilities. Events include theater productions, concerts, art classes, kid’s programs, recitals and receptions. The Brewery Arts Center operates the BAC’s Performing Arts Cooperative (BAC PAC), the BAC Stage Kids, the Brewery Arts Center Summer Stock Theater, Concerts at the Brewery, Classes at the Brewery, the Nevada Artist Association Gallery and the Artisans’ Cafe Store.
The Brewery Arts Center is committed to presenting and promoting art, arts programming and cultural events for all ages through its facilities and resources to the community of Carson City and the surrounding area.
The Brewery Arts Center is home to several wonderful fine arts programs including painting, pottery and the resident Nevada Artist Association (NAA). The NAA is a showcase for Nevada artists. It opened its doors in 1979 and is now a destination for Nevada art patrons as well as tourists. It is also included in Carson City’s famous historic tours. The gallery provides an attractive space for artists to display their works, including sculptures, photography, framed and unframed paintings as well as jewelry and crafts.
The Artisans' Gift Shop hosts the work of nearly two dozen artists with beautiful jewelry, unique glass creations as well as pottery, paintings and photography. The artists and artwork rotate on a regular basis. The Artisan Cafe serves coffee and breakfast pastries as well as lunch. Tickets to upcoming events, classes and concert information are available at the cafe.
The vision of the BAC is to nurture and advance the creation and presentation of the arts. The BAC seeks to promote a sense of community through the arts, and provides everyone with opportunities to celebrate the human spirit through participation in the arts.
