The Buckeye Tree Lodge is located at the southern entrance to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and is the last entity before entering the park.  In front of the Lodge is a 14-foot Indian face totem pole carved from a large section of giant sequoia in 1958 by renowned sculptor Carroll Barnes for the Lodge just after it was built.  The Buckeye Tree Lodge features 11 rooms all of which face the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River. The views of the Kaweah River and Sierra Nevada mountains are unrivaled from the property.

The Buckeye Tree Lodge is all about location and the unique proximity of every lodge room right on the banks of the Kaweah River with river views and sounds.  Every room has a patio or deck with comfortable chairs to sit in and watch the river roll by. The atmosphere is casual and every room has multiple and unique back country photographs of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks taken by the owner.

All rooms have ceiling fans, heat and air conditioning, cable TV, free high speed internet, free local and long distance telephone service from each room and a breakfast basket of home baked muffins, local fresh fruit and various juices.

Seasons Open: The Buckeye Tree Lodge is open 365 days per year.

The Buckeye Tree Lodge features multiple tables and chairs on the lawn next to the river and one can choose to relax by the river, fish or swim in the river, BBQ and picnic, climb the large boulders in and around the river, kayak in the river, watch all of the birds and other wildlife, or even swim in the pool set amongst the boulders.

Rate Range: $81 - $146 per night

The Buckeye Tree Lodge is located just over the historic Pumpkin Hollow Bridge on Highway 198.  We are less than 5 hours from either Los Angeles or San Francisco and whether coming from the north or the south, when you reach Highway 198, head east.  We are the last entity on Highway 198 before Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

The Buckeye Tree Lodge is owned by Dennis and Stacie Villavicencio, who live on the premises with their two children and meet and mingle daily with guests.  Dennis originally moved to Three Rivers when he was five years old and grew up in Three Rivers and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.  He left to go to college and law school. After 20 years in San Diego living on the beach he moved back to raise his family here in Three Rivers because he has such a love for the Sierra Nevada mountains.  He has hiked, biked and ran extensively throughout the area and is also a fitness fanatic having completed 9 Ironman competitions including 2 Ironmans at the World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

We have no disposable or single use items in our rooms.  Free Trade and sustainably grown French Roast coffee beans are provided with a grinder and coffee maker rather than coffee packets.  We feature shampoo and body wash dispensers rather than individual soaps and shampoo bottles.  We use CFLs and LED lighting where possible.  We have ceiling fans in every room.  We have energy efficient windows with screens that open and allow the cool river breezes to blow through the rooms.  All appliances and air conditioners are energy star rated or better.  We primarily use organic cleaning products in all of our rooms and outdoors. Our landscaping is almost entirely native plants including huge native sycamores that the lodge was built around.  Even our lawnmower is battery operated (which also makes it very quiet).  Our pool and water pumps are the most quiet and efficient on the market.
