Campground By The Lake

Campground by The Lake is immediately across the highway from the lake in mid town South Lake Tahoe.  It is the perfect spot if you want to be near restaurants, and direct access to Lake Tahoe. Premier bike and paddle shops are located nearby the campground which has been a south shore institution for decades. It's one of the oldest campgrounds in Lake Tahoe and also has a recreation center adjacent to it, along with ball fields and an ice skating rink.

Maximum Campsite Spur Length: All street legal camping vehicles allowed.

Maximum Number of People Cabin or Fire Lookout May Accommodate: 6 people per site; 4 people per cabin

Nightly Fee: $26 per site; $36 per site with hook ups; $48 per cabin or tent cabin

Maximum Length of Stay Allowed: 14 days

Driving Directions

From the intersection of Hwy 50 and Hwy 89 in South Lake Tahoe: proceed approximately 3 miles on Hwy 50 east heading towards Nevada; turn right on Rufus Allen Blvd. Continue approximately 100 yards to 1150 Rufus Allen Blvd; campground entrance will be on right.

From Stateline Nevada on Hwy 50: Proceed approximately 4 miles; turn left on Rufus Allen Blvd and continue approximately 100 yards to 1150 Rufus Allen Blvd; campground entrance is on the right.

 Eco-Friendly Notes

Campground is mid town with convenient public transportation available to most South Lake Tahoe basin destinations. Easy walk to the lake, grocery stores, laundry mat, library, post office, restaurants and visitor information. Walk in, bike in, and kayak in campers encouraged.

Sites with full hook ups as well as tent sites and tent cabins.

 Pet Friendly Notes
Dogs welcome on leash. They must be attended in camp and must have record of immunization.
