Clark's Corner

Clark's Corner

Clark's Corner is a favorite of both locals and tourists. With history filling the walls and tables, you are bound to be taken back to the days of Freezeout (one of Ione’s original names in the 1800s.) The walls are adorned with the brands of ranchers, both past and present. And, if walls could talk, their stories would be a constant stream of entertainment. There's always something happening, history being made, and stories being told at Clark's - whether it's during Wine Time on Fridays, Live Music on Saturdays, Story Time on Tuesdays - or any other given day.

Clark’s Corner is also a huge advocate for their community. Whether they're selling tickets and helping raise money for local non profits, or hosting their annual Independence Day Celebrations, “Clark’s” has turned into a true community hub. No matter what your question, be it about their history, community, events or gatherings, they are sure to send you on your way with both the knowledge and answers you desired.

Hours Open: Sun-Thurs 5am-9pm and Fri-Sat 5am-11pm

Price Style for this Establishment: All menu items under $10

Locally or Family Owned Business Notes

Owner Kraig Clark's family has been part of the Ione community since the 1950's.

Willie Clark grew up in the San Joaquin valley and moved to Ione in the 1950's. He finished high school at Ione High School and then entered the Air Force for four years as a jet engine mechanic. He was always artistic and loves to draw and paint. He did a lot of "pin-striping" on cars, boats, race-cars, etc. He also loves to oil paint, build things with his hands, and tell stories.

Hallie Clark grew up in the Sloughouse area before moving to Ione in the 50's as well. She loves the countryside, ocean (big waves), nature, animals, and taking long drives.

Clark's Corner is a true family business with Kraig's brother Kenny making coffee drinks, mother Hallie does the laundry, and dad Willie has his paintings hung up on the walls.
