Don Pedro Lake Fishing

Quoted as being one of the best largemouth bass fisheries in California, Don Pedro Lake has produced largemouth bass exceeding 18 lbs. In addition to largemouth bass, small mouth and spotted bass are caught at the reservoir.
Other species of interest to anglers include a variety of trout (rainbow, brook and german brown), salmon (kokanee, king and silver), crappie and bluegill, catfish and perch. The lake's 160 miles of shoreline is entirely accessible only by boat, however, pull outs along adjacent roadways and three developed recreation areas offer access year 'round. Two full service marinas, one at Moccasin Point and one at Fleming Meadows offer boat rentals.
California Department of Fish and Game regulations apply.
Seasonal changes bring on the bite at different times for the different species of fish found in the lake. Contact one of the two marinas (either at Moccasin Point or at Fleming Meadows) on the lake for current information on where to troll, where to bank fish, and what bait and tackle is working best at the moment.
Boating remains the best access to the whole lake. By vehicle, access is available at Fleming Meadows and Blue Oaks Recreation Areas off of Bonds Flat Road (Highways J-59 or 132), and Moccasin Point Recreation Area off of Jacksonville Road (Highway 49/120).
ADA compatible campsites and restrooms.
Voluntary practice of catch and release fishing to enjoy the thrill of the catch while leaving the fish to grow larger for your next fishing visit to the lake!
Pets allowed on vessels and only in undeveloped areas.
