Located between the small towns of Chinese Camp and Moccasin is a well developed pull out near the highway 120/49 bridge that crosses Don Pedro Lake. The Don Pedro Reservoir Vista offers a scenic overview of the northeast end of the lake including Woods Creek, the entrance to Railroad Canyon, Jacksonville Bridge and the Kanaka Creek area. This scenic viewpoint has two plaques for visitors to learn more about the vista. Information is shared about the expanse of reservoir created by Don Pedro Dam in 1971 and the historic town site of Jacksonville (now under the water of Don Pedro Lake).
