El Dorado Arts Council ArtSpace, located in historic downtown Placerville, exhibits art created by El Dorado County artists in shows that change every 6-8 weeks. Each exhibit is either a new theme (Bricolage, landscapes, abstracts, student art, fresh floral art, and more), or is art created by guest El Dorado County arts organizations such as the Sierra Pastel Society, Placerville Arts Association, quilter's guilds, etc.
El Dorado Arts Council (EDAC) ArtSpace also hosts musical events, poetry readings by The Red Fox Poets, and art workshops. Every 3rd Saturday, ArtSpace is open late for visitors to meet artists and view the current art exhibit.
The El Dorado Arts Council enriches and educates the community through the advancement of all the arts. EDAC, a nonprofit organization, supports the cultural and economic development of El Dorado County by advocating and creating the highest quality artistic and educational opportunities for visitors and residents of El Dorado County.
El Dorado Arts Council has been promoting the arts in El Dorado County for over 20 years. Through community collaborations such as Coloma Blues Live, El Dorado Hills Art and Wine Affaire, Art in the Orchard, The Big Read, Poetry Out Loud and many other events and programs, EDAC continues to provide El Dorado County visitors and residents with top notch arts programming and a creative economy.
