Ferrari’s Crown Resort has been owned and operated by the Ferrari Family since 1955. My name is Dave Ferrari and I have been the manager of our resort for over 25 years, taking over from my brother, who took over from our parents. We are in our fourth generation of families returning to stay at the Crown. Some of my best friends are those wonderful people I met playing here, on the beach at Lake Tahoe, when we were young children. As I think about growing up at Lake Tahoe, I realize that for me, the Crown is like having a big house where your old and new friends come to stay.
We work hard to support our Kings Beach community and the entire Lake Tahoe and Sierra Nevada. We donate over a hundred rooms each year to local groups. We have hosted the artists for Arts for the Schools for over 20 years. Our parents were Citizens of the Year in our area, a distinction I have also received in my time managing the Crown. I am a founder of the local Boys and Girls Club and a Trustee for Sierra Community College, where we worked with the Truckee Donner Land Trust to create a Conservation Easement on the entire property where the college is located. Giving back to our community is just as important as the care and attention we give our guests. When you stay at the Crown Resort, you are helping support local social and environmental efforts, and we thank you.
We have rooms to accommodate every size, budget and group. We have standard units for those that want to be near Lake Tahoe and not spend too much, and lakefronts that are within 20 to 60 feet of the shore, depending on the lake level of course. We have rooms that sleep up to six and a number of rooms with kitchens and kitchenettes. We are modestly priced and honestly not the fanciest place you may have stayed in. We keep our rates affordable, our rooms clean, our beds comfortable, and try to give all of our guests a great experience.
We are located within walking distance to a variety of dining options.
Our amenities include:
- Complimentary continental breakfast served daily
- Complimentary high speed internet access
- Outdoor and indoor hot tubs by the lakefront open year-round
- Two seasonal (summer) heated swimming pools by the lakefront

Ferrari’s Crown Resort has been owned and operated by the Ferrari Family since Ben Ferrari began construction on the property in 1955. The land was purchased by Ben and his mother-in -law, Mary Gardella, in 1946. Ben and Nora were the children of four Northern Italian immigrants who came through Ellis Island to Northern Nevada in the late 1800s and early 1900s. As young adults and subsequent parents living in the then small town of Reno, they and their friends and relatives all came to North Tahoe and camped on the beaches on weekends. It was on one of these trips that they came upon a cabin on Lake Tahoe. A handshake deal was done to buy the property, and the inside of that cabin is still part of the Ferrari Family residence to this day.
Welcome to our home. Welcome to Lake Tahoe.
