Description of Event

The lively community of Foresthill celebrates its rich heritage of Gold Mining and Lumber every Labor Day Weekend. We are proud to host the California Gold Panning Championships. This is a popular family event with activities for all ages including:

National Gold Panning Championships
International Chili Society & Community Chili Cook-offs (Saturday)
California State Lumber Jack and Jill Championships
Sierra Sixguns and Sidekicks
American Legion Pig Roast (Saturday)
American Legion BBQ (Sunday)
Hands-on Gold-Panning Instruction
Food and Craft Vendors
Old-Time Costume Judging
Pancake Breakfast Saturday and Sunday with Boy Scout Troop 26
Early California Historical Displays, Demonstrations, and Old Town Walking Tours
Kid’s Games and Activities (skills activities, and fun booths)
Raffles and drawings in cash and prizes

Visit the Forest Hill Historical Museum and working Blacksmith shop for Historical Demonstrations.

Come visit the beautiful mountain town of Foresthill as we celebrate A Proud Heritage and A Bright Future!
