Kent and Dave Dohnel have 35 years of accumulated packing experience in the Sierra. Our staff of women and men wranglers, cooks and assistants are some of the most experienced and personable that you will meet at any packing operation.

The Dohnel brothers personally attend to the details of safety and hospitality that can make the difference between a mediocre trip and one that will be remembered for a long time. All trips are full service, designed to fit your personal needs and interests. A full camp is set up each evening with latrines and tents and a back country kitchen for good old fashioned cooking. We match you up with gentle, well mannered horses suited to your riding ability, beginner or expert.

We offer daily rides to week long back country excursions. Unique adventures that we would like to highlight include our spring and fall horse drives.

Take a four-day horseback trip from our winter pasture near Bishop, California to our pack station in June Lake, California. Join us while we heard our horses and mules between our winter headquarters to the mountains. This is a trip for those who would like to experience the life of a cowboy. You will herd about 100 head of horses and mules along the trail from the pack station to their winter pasture. An active traveling trip for people of all ages and riding levels. Your tents and gear will be transported each day and will be waiting for you as you drive the stock into camp.
