The Giant Sequoia Mercantile is located at the southern gateway to the Sequoia National Forest, in the historic town of Kernville.  The store offers a complete line of gifts from Kern River and the Giant Sequoia National Monument.

Camping, rafting equipment, unique books, and some apparel are also available at the store.  The store is also a great resource for visitor information. The store offers a wide variety of information including maps, brochures, dining and lodging information, and special event news for visitors to the Kern River Valley.

The store also offers information about the southern section of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.  Nearby points of interest include the Wild and Scenic Kern River, Isabella Reservoir, the Trail of 100 Giants, and the Giant Sequoia National Monument.  Local annual events include Whiskey Flat Days which is held in February, and the Isabella Lake Fishing Derby held in the spring.
