Groveland, California

Groveland is an authentic spirited Gold Rush era town. Besides its rich history, there are many things that make Groveland stand out as one of the greatest little towns in the USA. The community energy of this Sierra Nevada foothills village near Yosemite National Park is remarkable. The town has even elected a dog named Goose as Honorary Mayor of Groveland!

Things to do right in town range from shopping and spa treatments to horseshoes at Mary Lavaroni Community Park; a visit to the local Museum and Library complex to a game of pool with live music and dancing at the famous Iron Door Saloon; wine tasting at the Hotel Charlotte to lounging with a latte and a good book in a hammock at Mountain Sage.

For the younger, or young at heart, there is a world-class skateboard park, basketball courts, and playground equipment at Mary Lavaroni Community Park.

Groveland is known for its community events, rarely a week goes by in the summertime without something happening in the local park. On Saturdays there is a Farmers Market at Mountain Sage. In the winter, the local businesses "take it inside" with plays, musicals, and special event dinners featuring local talent.
