Historic inn right in downtown Sonora within walking distance to everything. Charming rooms with a lot of character and is well maintained! This is the most historic inn in Sonora, named for Dr. Lewis C Gunn who came here to seek his fortune in the 1849 Gold Rush.
During the early Television Western Series era, many of which were filmed in the Sonora area, the hotel became a favorite place to stay for the actors and crews.
Swimming pool, free wi-fi and of course, breakfast. Heating and air conditioning and cable TV.
The lobby is small and cozy, however the breakfast room is usually open for casual relaxation.
Historic original antiques are used in every room, however mattresses are still comfortable and modern.
Gourmet Breakfast
Season Open: all year
Helpful staff who know the area - very good about local insight as to what to do and sell.
Rate Range: $79-$109
Downtown on Washington Street which becomes CA 49 a few blocks north of the hotel. Coming on Highway 108 from the west exit at Stockton St (downtown Sonora), go up the traffic light (Washington), turn right and go 2 blocks to hotel on right. Or exit 108 by turning left at Washington St and go about a mile to the hotel on the left.
