Homestead Cottages

Adobe Cottage

The Homestead Cottages are located on 160 wooded acres just south of Yosemite National Park, Once occupied by Native Americans in pine bark lodges, the land now embraces luxury cottages of adobe and stone that nestle respectfully with nature's surroundings.

Larry Ends and Cindy Brooks bought the land in 1990 and built the cottages from the ground up. Meandering rock walls and natural gardens surround the acreage where the cottages are situated, the rest of the land is left open and natural, maintained for fire protection. Larry and Cindy are still active owners and managers of this unique retreat that has been host for guests from all over the world visiting Yosemite National Park.

Bed and Breakfast Style

This unique property revolves around privacy and quiet. There is a main office for checking in and receiving area information, then each cottage is a self contained delight.

Each unit has a full kitchen which is stocked daily during maid service with coffees, teas, milk, juice and a basket of muffins, fruit and granola. Each cottage also has a living room with gas fireplace, separate bedroom with queen bed, adjoining spacious bathroom and a private outdoor setting area. There is an outdoor barbecue and picnic areas accessible to all the cottages.

Carolyn Weisman wrote on May 09, 2010: I live on Road 600 and pass the Homestead on my way to Oakhurst. It always looks inviting and well cared for. No mention is made of the horse facilities there for those traveling with their horses. If I didn't already live here I would stay there!
