Name of Person: Larry Angier and Carolyn Fox

Image West Photography, Larry Angier and Carolyn Fox, are Amador County's photographers and continue their more than thirty-five years as the visual historians of Amador County and the Heart of the Mother Lode and Celebrate Rural America with their travel photography featuring photography of people and places in America's fly-over country.

Larry was born and raised in Amador County and has lived here his entire life. Carolyn is from Southern California and came to Amador County in the mid 1970s.

Both Larry and Carolyn photograph the changing landscape, the people, events, towns, and details of the central Mother Lode to preserve its visual history and legacy. The photos are used to showcase the gems of Amador County and the Mother Lode through the web and print in magazines and books. Their work is also featured in the Amador Council of Tourism's travel planners and website, and the Amador Vintners' print and website publications.

A permanent exhibit called "The Amador Collection" composed of nearly 150 large photographs is on public display within the American Exchange Hotel in Sutter Creek.

Both Larry and Carolyn have hundreds of published photos and articles to their credit in addition to many books and calendars, many featuring the land and people of Amador County and the Mother Lode.

Larry's video reel created for the Amador Council of Tourism recently won a special award for Special Effects for the Amador County display at the 2010 California State Fair. It features the land, legacy and people of Amador County and includes work by Carolyn Fox and historic photos of Amador in the six minute film.
