Introduction

Jon Paul Gallery exclusively represents the fine art landscape photography of renowned large format film photographer, Jon Paul. Along with representing Jon's amazing images of the natural world, aspiring photographers can arrange to join Jon Paul in the field for one of his private photography seminars.

Full Explanation

I first visited Lake Tahoe during a summer vacation from college. I was immediately overwhelmed by the natural beauty and drama of the Sierra Nevada. That first visit lead to a permanent move. I spent most of my days cycling, running, hiking, fly fishing and rock climbing in my High Sierra playground. Those activities built my appreciation for the power of the natural surroundings in these amazing mountains. The natural progression for me was the pursuit of landscape photography. I wanted to share the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada in the highest quality possible to give tribute to its glory. The Jon Paul Gallery was born.

I am one of the few remaining fine art landscape photographers in the world who still captures images with large format film cameras. Given this choice, the Jon Paul Gallery is able to display some of the largest, sharpest, most detailed original photographs available today. My work shows the respect I have for my natural subject matter, specifically the magical light found in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The quality of my final prints make the Jon Paul Gallery a must see destination for any visitor to the Lake Tahoe region who enjoys the beauty of the natural world and appreciates fine art.

As an extension of my passion for photographing this amazing region, I offer private and small group field seminars in the Sierra where I share my experience and knowledge. I take aspiring photographers and outdoors people into the field where we look through the lens together. It is amazingly rewarding to teach people how to create better images that do justice to their experiences in nature.
