The Laws Railroad Museum and Historic Site is located on land donated to Inyo County by the Southern Pacific Railroad when it shut down its narrow gauge railroad operations in the Owens Valley. The site is a California Historical Landmark #953 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum is operated by the Bishop Museum and Historical Society, which has recreated an old time village around the original 1883 depot and Agent's House by moving old historic buildings onto the grounds from various locations in the Eastern Sierra Nevada.

Each building contains exhibits of historic artifacts from the area. The last steam train to operate on the old Narrow Gauge line is on display at the museum outside the depot. The locomotive, the "Slim Princess" is 100 years old as are most of the cars. The site was originally the Laws Station on the Carson and Colorado Railroad, which was the longest narrow gauge railroad in the west at one time way back then.

In addition to the train car displays, the museum operates a restored 80+ year old historic rail-bus from the Death Valley Railroad, and a 60 year old+ mine train from a local tungsten mine for public rides on special occasions. Exhibits include old wagons, a replica mining mill, an old general store, local ranch house, old time fire equipment, and many other antique items. Laws Railroad Museum is located 4.5 miles north of Bishop, off U.S. Hwy 6 in the stunning Eastern Sierra Nevada, the other side of California.
