Mill Creek Falls Campground

The Mill Creek Falls Campground is one of the best kept secrets of Northern California. The campground is located in the southern end of the beautiful and lush Warner Mountain Range, nestled in the thick pine forests above Jess Valley on the outskirts of Modoc National Forest.  The Warner Mountain range is a unique mountain range composed of an extinct chain of volcanoes. The mountain range is wetter than most mountain ranges in the area due to its high elevation (approximately 5,700 feet above sea level), and  the volcanic rock base, which is fertile and does not absorb water.

The Mill Creek Falls Campground is a great destination for a weekend get-away. It is easily accessed by paved road and also provides access to great day hikes.  The most popular hike is a moderate difficulty level half mile hike to the spectacular Mill Creek Falls with a drop of 75 feet. Along the hike deer are likely to be seen as well as a variety of birds.  There are also beautiful wildflowers that cover the hillside and are usually in full bloom in July.  The hike also provides great views of Brokeoff Mountain and Mt. Diller.

Mill Creek Falls Campground is a small and cozy campground that provides guests with sites that are shaded by the countless tall Ponderosa and Jeffery pines.  Each site also includes a picnic table and fire pit with flip grills for cooking.  Water spigots and garbage cans are conveniently located near each site.  Mill Creek Falls Campground is great for access to hiking, fishing, horseback riding, picnicking, and wildlife viewing. Mill Creek Falls Campground is open June through October, depending on weather.
