Modoc County Last Frontier Fair

Description of Event

Planning a visit to northeastern California in mid-August?  If so, you don’t want to miss the Annual Last Frontier, Modoc County District Fair, located at the Modoc County Fairgrounds in Cedarville, California.

The Modoc County District Fair showcases a kaleidoscope of Modoc County’s most talented as well as many wonderful exhibits. Capture the thrill and excitement of the American Traveling Shows Carnival, games and rides and don’t forget everyone’s favorite the Destruction Derby. 

Relax and enjoy the local entertainment featuring, music, poetry, art, rodeos, barbeque, softball and much more. You don’t want to miss anything!

Special features include:  American Traveling Shows Carnival, Games and Rides, music by the Wylde Side Band and The Big Sage Band. There will be a Kids Corner sponsored by the First Five and A Western Pony Express.  Roundhouse Ronny the Clown will be there providing laughs for everyone. 

A fair wouldn’t be a fair without some amusing activities; folks will be gearing up to participate in the Diaper Derby, Greased Pig Contest and Adult Greased Pig Contest. That should be something to witness. Other activities include Cowboy and Cowgirl’s Kid Day Rodeo, Jr. Steer Riding/Saddle Bronc Riding, Sheep Trials and Mutton Busting.

Visit the mythical town of Louieville while you are at the Modoc County Fair Grounds. Louieville is located at the Modoc County Fairgrounds in Cedarville, Louieville is comprised of log cabins and old buildings transported in from around Surprise Valley. Louieville consists of a slaughterhouse, a schoolhouse, a water tower, the old Ft. Bidwell jail, the old Eagleville jail, a cabin built by Christopher Sharp, one of the first settlers in Cedarville, an old workshop, a church, and a two-seater outhouse.

So, please join us for four days of friends, fun, food and entertainment, at The Last Frontier, Modoc County District Fair. The biggest little fair in northeastern California.

The people of Modoc are friendly, and the area is rich in history, wildlife, recreation, tourist activities, and unparalleled scenic beauty. Admission Fee (if any): Thursday Admission $2.00 fro all ages -Fri - Sun $5.00 admission fee for Adults/Senior $2.00 (60+)/Children(4-12) $3.00/ Season Pass $12.00 available until the first day of the fair
