Mountain Light Gallery

Esteemed climber and photographer Galen Rowell spent his life documenting mountains from the Sierra to Tibet, including the people who climbed them and the people who lived among them. His extraordinary body of photographic work is on display and for sale at the gallery he and his wife created, just years before both died tragically in a plane crash.
No stranger to Bishop or the Sierra Nevada, Rowell's unique photographic style and ability to get up to locations are on display in his array of famed photos, "Range of Light." The Gallery hosts workshops, has wonderful exhibits by guest photographers, and sells photos, prints and books.
Mountain Light Gallery is located in the heart of Bishop at 106 South Main Street (U.S. 395) at Line Street. Bishop is approximately 250 miles North of Los Angeles, and a short drive south of Mono Lake, Lee Vining and Mammoth Lakes. The gallery is open Monday-Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm.
Seasons Open: Open year round, 7 days a week.
ADA Accessible
