Event Dates: May 12, 2012
The Paradise Chocolate Festival is an annual festival started by the Joy Lyn's Candies business owners Pam and Bill Hartley. In 2006, the Hartley's started the Paradise Chocolate Festival as a fundraiser to benefit the youth in their community. This charming event takes place among the tall green pines in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains and overlooks the Sacramento Valley.
The Paradise Chocolate Festival is a zero- waste event. While the delicious, decadence of chocolate remains paramount to the visitors, organizers are proud to demonstrate how their responsible and sustainable planning and actions create a huge difference in reducing waste while enhancing the experience of the festival.
The Paradise Chocolate Festival's charitable and sustainable nature reflect the community that strikes a perfect balance between its Gold Country historical past and all the comforts of today's living that a small group of individuals with big hearts and a love of chocolate come together to host the International award-winning festival.
Special events throughout the day include a Chocolate Pancake Breakfast, Chocolate Chase Fun Run/Walk, Chocolate Cuisine Challenge, Chocolate Pie Eating Contests, Super Sensational Ice Cream Sundae Spoon- Feeding Contest, a variety of Musical Entertainment and live chocolate demonstrations. And for the children, there are giant inflatables, carnival games, costumed characters, clowns, face painting, and interactive chocolate arts and craft projects.
