This beautiful family-friendly bike trail in South Lake Tahoe meanders through the forest, to the beach and open meadows. The trail is mostly flat from the road to the beach, so good for biking, jogging, or a a brisk walk.

On the opposite side of Highway 50, the "loop" is paved and pretty easy to bike on, with only a few hilly areas. This 3-4 mile trail can be ridden as a loop or out and back. If you ride the loop, once you reach Nevada Beach look for campsite 20 and you will find a dirt path that goes through Lam Watah Meadow and out to Hwy 50 (old Pony Express route). Continue through the intersection of Hwy 50 and Kahle Drive and ride through Kahle Community Park back to Pineridge Road. The out and back option will provide a more isolated experience and gradual climb on the return trip, while the loop will offer a more direct route but a bit steeper climb on the final half mile

OPTION 1: Take 207 Kingsbury Grade approximately half a mile. Turn left onto Pineridge Road, drive to end. This is a neighborhood without a lot of parking at the trailhead. It is advised to park at the shopping center at the corner of Pineridge and hwy 207 and ride to the end of the cul de sac where the paved trail begins.

OPTION 2: Another option would be to start at the other end of the trail at the corner of Kahle Drive and Hwy 50 where the Lam Watah Meadow Trail begins. To get there, continue on Hwy 50 east past hwy 207 to Kahle Drive and turn left. The trailhead parking is on your immediate right. One important note about this trail: When the trail meets Kingsbury Middle School approximately 1mile from the trailhead at Pineridge Road, the trail ends and picks up again on the OTHER SIDE OF THE SCHOOL. Then it continues to Round Hill at Elks Point Road where you can safely cross US 50 at the intersection and continue to Nevada Beach.

Trail is paved most of the way from Pineridge to Nevada Beach. The Lam Watah Meadows trail is a US Forest Service Trail and has bridges over sensitive meadow areas to preserve and protect the meadow environment. Always stay on the trail.

Pets are allowed on Lam Watah Meadows Trail and poop stations are available. Always clean up after your pet. Pets are allowed only on the southern end of Nevada Beach and must be on a leash. This is a great beach to take your dog to, many locals bring their pups out daily.
