Plumas Sierra County Fair

Plumas Sierra County Fairgrounds

Event Dates: August 08, 2012 - August 12, 2012

Description of Event

Going strong for more than 150 years, the Plumas Sierra County Fair in Quincy has represented a place where residents of two side-by-side communities come together to reconnect and celebrate their roots. A favorite pastime for the older crowd and youngsters, it has been an important celebratory event in the development of both communities and can be felt in the fair's theme that embodies a robust culture - "pride in the past, faith in the future." This popular gathering traces back to a time when fairs were solely for the purpose of competing over whose crops or whose cattle were the best in the area. This is still a prime focus of the fair, with farmers and livestock traveling from all parts of Plumas and Sierra Counties to be at the fair.

Today, the bi-county fair continues to be a family tradition for many locals and visitors to commemorate the Plumas and Sierra mountain communities. Residents unabashedly celebrate the rich history of Plumas and Sierra Counties' leadership, strength and hospitality.

From logging to fishing, mining to golfing, past to present, the Plumas and Sierra Counties celebrate with a wide variety of entertaining events.  It's also one of the cleanest and greenest fairgrounds in the west.

But don't believe me. You be the judge. You'll find amusement rides, tasty treats, animal and livestock events, local artist exhibits, and several grandstand events and live music.
