Redwood Meadow Campground-Giant Sequoia National Monument

Redwood Meadow Campground-Giant Sequoia National Monument

If campgrounds could have expressions, then Redwood Meadow would have a smiling face.  This is an easy one to like.  The facility is a quaint, mountain campground located on the Western Divide Highway, across from the Trail of 100 Giants in the southern Sierra Nevada.  The campground is nestled among towering pines and giant sequoias, and is only 50 miles from the town of Springville.

Redwood Meadow offers visitors solitude and tranquility during their stay.  With hiking, fishing, and mountain biking nearby there is sure to be something for everyone!  Below is a big meadow with colorful flowers, which serves as a great place to take scenic photos.

Nearby points of interest include Trail of 100 Giants, Dome Rock, Needles Lookout, and within the Freeman Creek Grove you will find the President George H.W Bush Tree.  Other notable groves in the area include the Long Meadow Grove and the Belknap Complex.  If you enjoy water activities, there is a rock “water slide” and the “teacups” which are both within a few miles of the campground.

The campground sits at approximately 6,500 feet, so visitors are advised to prepare themselves for a variety of weather.  Suggested items to bring include a rain or warm jacket with a hood, and warm blankets.
