Ringtail Vineyards

We are a family owned and operated vineyard located at 2,500 feet in the foothills of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Just as you'd expect, the volcanic soil in our area is excellent for growing grapes. Our warm days and cool nights also attribute to a great grape growing area. Our wines have rich, deep flavors inherent in producing small yields meticulously grown and harvested from our estate crops.
Robert Carrillo, the owner of Ringtail Vineyards, is a fourth generation grower. Rob planted his vineyard in Manton in the late 90's after realizing that the region contained a unique soil condition and ecosystem for producing superior fruits. Rob started his vineyard with one and a half acres each of Petite Sirah and Gewurztraminer. In fact, our wines have won several awards including a gold from the 2011 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
Rob has worked in the agriculture business as a vineyard manager for large corporations, such as Brown Foreman and directly for the Fetzer family, pioneering organic growing methods for their crops. He was responsible for designing, implementing and planting several large vineyards in Mendocino County as well as several local vineyards in Shasta and Tehama counties.
Ringtail Vineyards is one of the few wineries in Northern California that does not charge for tasting. Instead, you have the pleasure of sitting down and talking with us, the owners, Rob and Donna. We love meeting new people and sharing our experiences on the vineyard, stories about the elusive ring tail cat, and the cultural heritage of our area.
Our tasting room is open on Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m to 5 p.m. year round, but please call before visiting just in case there is a private event booked. We also accept visitors, large groups and organizations by appointment. Bring a picnic lunch and stay a while. Relax under the cool pine trees and play a game of Croquet!
The vineyard and winery is located approximately 25 miles northeast of Red Bluff and 35 miles east of Redding and Anderson.
