Event Dates: August 04, 2012

About this Event

The Round Valley Run & Walk event is a family-friendly annual tradition that takes place in the mountains of Greenville in Plumas County.  The Round Valley Run & Walk event has been a staple of the community for the past 30 years and provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Round Valley.

The proceeds from the Round Valley Run & Walk event support a unique community-building program called Community Connections.  Community Connections is an important growing network of more than 200 dedicated members who volunteer their time and and talents to provide services to support each other, families in need, seniors, and the community in Round Valley.

The race is ideal for serious and non-serious runners, and those who just want to delight in the outdoors. The course options include a 5.4 mile trail course, a 1.50 mile Junior course that is perfect for young participants working their way up to the full five miles, a flat 2 mile walking course, and the 200 yard children's run. Participants in the race receive reusable goodie bags filled with information about the area and of course, medals, ribbons, prize money, and other gifts are awarded to participants.  The Round Valley Run & Walk event is a destination race that lends itself to a perfect family weekend getaway to enjoy the scenery of Plumas County.  The camping, fishing, biking, hiking, and boating in this area are fantastic!

The Round Valley Run & Walk event is sponsored by Plumas Rural Services, a Northeastern California based, non-profit organization providing services and opportunities for the well being of local residents and families to improve the quality of life and self sufficiency by promoting health  education, prevention and treatment.  Plumas Rural Services has been serving Plumas County for 30 years.
