Shaver Lake Art Gallery

The Shaver Lake Art Gallery is located in the quaint village of Shaver Lake.  It was founded by a group of ten local artists in February 2008.  In 2009 the gallery relocated to its present venue and now features the works of 25 artists.  As a cooperative, the gallery is staffed by local artists who can often be found working on art projects when you visit. The Shaver Lake Art Gallery presents a distinguished selection of art inspired by the beautiful Central and southern Sierra Nevada mountains, lakes and streams.

Offered for sale are paintings in watercolor, oil and acrylic; drawings which include pastels, pen and ink; block prints; handmade jewelry created in dichroic glass, beads, semi-precious stones and silver; clay works and pottery; origami; photography; metal art; and quilts. Other available artwork includes creations in wood including hand carved wildlife, decoys, and caricatures; wood turnings and chain saw carvings.

On the third Thursday of each month, the Shaver Lake Art Gallery is open from 5-7:00 p.m.  Light refreshments are served and usually an artist is demonstrating their medium.  This has become an increasingly popular community gathering.  Over Memorial Day weekend the gallery hosts a Dogwood Festival, and a Fall Festival is held in October.

Our co-op art gallery is run and staffed by local artists and we would love to share art inspired by the Central and Southern Sierra and beyond with you.

2012 Events Include: Childrens' Art Show, March 9-25; Dogwood Festival, May 25-27; Childrens' Art Camps, July 16-19 & July 23-26; Adult Students' Art Show, September 14-30; Fall Fest, October 26-28.

Darinda Otto * Shaver Crossing Railroad Station wrote on May 19, 2011: This is a beautiful art gallery, just what Shaver Lake needed to round out all the exciting things to do. If your favorite thing is not boating and fishing, then the art gallery and all the shops in town will be a treat for you!
