Private cabins on the South Yuba River surrounded by thousands of acres of Tahoe National Forest and overlooking the Nisenan Valley. You sit on your back porch, with a filet of Salmon sizzling on the gas grill, watching your daughter roast a marshmallow at the fire ring, as your son sits relaxing in the jetted tub after a day hiking and swimming in deep granite pools and jumping off rocks. It is called "pamping" or camping for grown ups who are too refined for sleeping in the dirt.
Individual cabins, tent cabins, and an adventure yurt.
Seasons Open: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall
Hiking, snowshoeing, swimming, snowman building, rock throwing, book reading, Monopolizing, Igloo construction, decompression.
Rate Range: $50-$260
Take Eagle Lakes Rd off I-80 (exit 164), go north and follow the pavement until it ends at the Boo.
Michael Rogers has lived in Lake Tahoe for close to 50 years. Growing up in Ta'mo'mo Valley (Olympic Valley), he tried the rest of the world and didn't like it as much.
Cabins are situated with minimal land disturbance and maximum natural beauty. Instant hot water heaters give continuous hot water efficiently.
Your dog will love it more than you do. Our guests say that their dogs get agitated as they approach the exit for the Boo.
