Shoreline trail 2

Photo © Dave Jigour

Currently 3.5 miles long, this scenic hiking and mountain biking trail starts at the Blue Oaks Group Area vista point and parallels the high water mark of the Reservoir to its current eastern terminus at Buzzard Point. Along the way, this trail traverses spectacular wildflower displays in the spring, passes by large Quartz outcroppings, offers unique vistas of Don Pedro Lake and the Sierra Nevada range to the east, and is always a great place to view wildlife and birds such as Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Red-Tailed Hawks and Great Blue Herons .

Plans exist to extend this trail another 3 miles to an eastern terminus at Schoolhouse Point in the near future.

Vertical Gain or Loss: 75 feet maximum

Trail Distance: 3.5 miles one way, 7 miles round trip
