The Sierra Nevada Logging Museum is located in White Pines on the historic site of the Blagen Sawmill. This facility is an excellent trip for the traveler interested in the local logging history. Visitors will find a museum of artifacts and a kiosk devoted to displaying and interpreting the history of logging throughout the region. There is a picnic area by the lake and interpretive trails highlighting historic equipment.

The Museum, overlooking beautiful White Pines Lake, includes a 2400-square foot building with extensive indoor exhibit space, a gift shop, on-site storage and workshop, as well as outdoor exhibits of large equipment and artifacts. The museum also has a library/research room that is available for those seeking more information about our lumbering heritage.

To get to the Museum, take Highway 4 east from Stockton through Angels Camp to the town of Arnold. From the northern or southern Sierras, take Highway 49 to Angels Camp, then turn east on Highway 4 to Arnold. From the Central Valley, take Highways 5 or 99 to Stockton and turn east on Highway 4. From Tahoe or Nevada, follow Highway 4 west from Markleeville over the crest of the Sierras through beautiful Ebbetts Pass to Arnold. (In winter, after the snows arrive, Highway 4 over the pass is closed; from Tahoe or Nevada, take Highway 88 down to Jackson and turn south on Highway 49.)

Seasons Open: The Museum is open by appointment (209-795-1226) during the winter season and from Thursday-Sunday, 12:00-4:00 when the weather warms up again.
