Sierra Subs and Salads

Sierra Subs and Salads is located in the heart of Three Rivers, California just outside of Sequoia National Park in the Southern Sierra Nevada.  It is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Dane and Allison Millner, who purchased the business in 2009.  Their business has grown quickly to become a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

With an array of options, both healthy and delicious, they offer fast, fresh food that tastes great and is made from a plant not from a can.  They strive to keep their ingredients pure and make all of the sauces, salsas, soups, side salads and vinaigrettes from scratch.  With unique paninis, salads, wraps, quesadillas, burgers and lots of vegetarian options there’s sure to be something for everyone.

Serving up great food for hungry travelers wasn’t always what they’d envisioned for their future.  “We were both ready for a change in our lives, and this just seemed like the right choice for us," says Dane, who relocated after 20 years in San Diego.  For Allison, moving to Three Rivers was coming home, “I was ready to be back in the mountains, back near my family and working on something that we both could enjoy.  We both have a love for great food and getting to share our passion is the icing on the cake!”

The dedication to their food is evident with the ever-changing weekly specials, wild creations and abundant vegetarian options.  “Being a life long vegetarian prompted me to expand that part of the menu and offer good, flavorful vegetarian food,” explains Allison.  “We are lucky to be able to pick herbs, peppers, arugula and vine ripe tomatoes in the summer from the family garden.  It makes our creations taste that much better," includes Dane.

Whether you're visiting for a day or able to enjoy the area for a week you will always be able to find great food, made with a smile at Sierra Subs and Salads.  Their food makes the perfect lunch to take up to the park or sit at the picnic tables alongside the Kaweah River. “We both have a love for great food,” Allison adds, “and hope that you'll share our passion when you taste our creations."

This is a wonderful place to find a good meal. There’s always something new alongside the usual standards. Everything is made fresh before your eyes and according to your request. I don’t know how Allison and Dane come up with such unique and delicious ideas. I'm definitely a fan!

I’ve been eating at SS&S since they opened. They are a perfect pit stop to and from the park. And now that I live in Three Rivers, I often stop in the evenings on my way home from work to pick up a pizza. I'm a bit infamous there as I was the customer obsessed with the South Fork Slider--a pulled pork special they served over a year ago. Now I'm obsessed with this little Egyptian meatball thing. SS&S was sorely needed in this area. They serve your traditional sandwiches, etc, and their specials are always a tasty experiment for me. Allison and Dane are creative and provide friendly customer service. De-lish.

When you walk into Sierra Subs and Salads the first thing that hits you is ENERGY. Dane and Allison work fast, hard, with smiles on their faces, and produce fresh food that is delicious. They are quite a team and add a lot to Three Rivers. One sees National Park tourists sitting on picnic benches under the trees, the river close by, along with locals, enjoying good food and scenery. A must go to stop in Three Rivers.

The fame of Sierra Subs and Salads has spread by word of mouth as far as Scotland. We've heard of innovative food, quality of service and - well - nice people. Well done Dane and Alison. We look forward to visiting on our next trip to California (before too long)!
