Introduction

Tahoe Mountain Soap Company has been making hand crafted, natural soaps, lotions, bath salts and potpourri for 15 years in South Lake Tahoe.

Full Explanation

Lake Tahoe residents for 23 years, the Carpenter's began making natural soap in 1995 after a visit to the Napa Valley where they purchased some hand-crafted natural soap in a gift shop. Upon returning home to Lake Tahoe and experimenting with several different ingredients, they discovered the perfect recipe that is still used to this day.

Today, the Carpenters still use the same high quality, natural ingredients they began with 15 years ago. Their blend of coconut, palm and olive oils are superfatted with apricot kernel or sweet almond oil that creates a cleansing yet mild soap that does not contribute to dry skin. Tahoe Mountain Soap is perfect for the Lake Tahoe and Sierra Nevada dry alpine climate.

Tahoe Mountain Soap Company now produces 11 varieties of natural soaps. Honey Citrus Scrub, Lavender, Mandarin Lime Calendula, Apricot Vanilla, Oatmeal Rose and Peppermint are among the most popular. Also available are Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Cinnamon, Cocoa Butter and Apricot Oatmeal. In 2007 they added Dead Sea bath salts and "body butter" style lotions to their product line. Available now is a lavender lotion made with a blend of shea butter, macadamia nut butter and avocado butter, and a neroli lotion made with mango butter. Like their exclusive soap, these moisturizing, non-greasy lotions are ideal for the dry Sierra Nevada climate.

All of the Tahoe Mountain Soap Company products are available at Farmer's Markets in South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Tahoe City and Placerville, as well as in several fine gift shops around Lake Tahoe. Tahoe Mountain Soap Company products make great gifts for any occasion and have made their way to all corners of the globe, including as far away as the U.K. and China.

Georgia wrote on December 06, 2010: I love these soaps! They last much longer in the shower than commercial style soap, plus they smell wonderful and leave your skin so soft. I have my brother and nephew "addicted" to them. Tahoe Mountain Soap is a quality product. :o]]
