Picnic tables in the shade provide a nice place for a picnic.

The Tahoe Vista Recreation Area is located at the intersection of Highway 28 and National Avenue in Tahoe Vista. The site of a former motel and residences, this lakefront property has become a local's favorite. Tall trees on the property offer a shady area to escape the sun found beachside.

Recreational Opportunities

The Tahoe Vista Recreation Area is for public access and enjoyment of Lake Tahoe. The sandy beach provides a place for a day at the beach with family and/or friends.

There is also a boat launch at this location, however parking is limited at this time as plans are developed and funding is acquired for construction of the parking lot. Please be aware of Tahoe Regional Planning Agency regulations regarding boat inspections and fees prior to arrival. Information is available at www.trpa.org

Sun bathing, water play and picnicing are all popular activities. In addition, Tahoe Adventure Company provides kayak rentals and tours from this location allowing visitors to see the Lake from the water. As all Tahoe residents know, getting out on the lake gives a totally different perspective from being onshore.

Seasons Accessible

This park is open for public use 365 days a year. The bathrooms are closed for the winter to prevent freezing.

The boat launch is open when water levels permit and inspectors are present. Please check the Boat Launch page of the District's Park website, www.northtahoeparks.com, for current information.

Fees: High Season Fees: $10 Parking/$10 Boat Launching. There is limited parking onsite but on street parking available nearby.

 ADA Accessibility Notes
This lakefront portion of the project was completed in July 2006 so meets all ADA requirements as of that date.

 Pet Friendly Notes
Dogs are not permitted. The water intake for our community water supply is located on this site.
