The Barn...treasures from the past

Experience "The Barn... treasures from the past for your lifestyle today!" as your next fun and interesting adventure. Set in an historic milking barn built in 1908, this unique shop/destination offers a charming atmosphere—said to be one of the first automated milking barns in the state that was once owned by a local family. The Barn offers an array of goods from "rustic to refined" displayed in an unusual way and is reminiscent of an old-fashioned, quaint mercantile. The selection is always changing, featuring antiques, home and cabin decor, "ranch rust", yard art & outdoor furniture, architectural finds, saddles/tack and more... you never know what you'll discover.
The Barn is home to Big Iron Garden, which is a giant, retired log splitter and loader, both of local fame, turned garden and venue. Trailing vines connect the two pieces of equipment and there's a pond built underneath the splitter. It is quite different and clever, and has an oasis ambiance..
Because we are located in a destination like historic El Dorado, we encourage local artists and artisans to showcase their work at The Barn. We believe it gives our selection more depth and meaning. Our prices are amazing too. We are family-friendly and look forward to seeing you soon!
Open Tuesday thru Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.ish, Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Located at 6111 Pleasant Valley Road, Placerville, near the historic Community Hall and train depot site.
Seasons Open: Year-round
We love dogs, but watch them closely around the pond!

Rick Sanders wrote on September 12, 2011: Great stop even if you are not going to buy anything. Ideas everywhere you look, and helpful, interested owners. Prices all fair and they will consider offers. Makes you smile.

Sheri in El Dorado wrote on February 01, 2010: The barn has a wonderful collection of everything from antiques to rustic western displayed in a very unique setting. I recently completed my back yard area and found so many things at The Barn that were exactly what I was looking for. Renee is an incredible owner. She even helped me with decorating ideas. She's very personable and professional even calling me when items came in that she thought I might like. Real old fashioned service. They are constantly getting new and different items. Their prices are the best in the county! I highly recommend a visit there.
