The Firelite Lodge

view of front office looking at lake

The Firelite Lodge has been a centrally located outpost for decades of Tahoe adventures. In the 1950s it was not Tahoe's amenities and facilities that won it the Olympics, it was its 400+ annual inches of snow. The Firelite was built in the tumult of construction preparing Tahoe for the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley. Its rooms housed the Olympians and then entertainers when it was owned for a period of time by Frank Sinatra. In the early 1960's The Firelite served as an overflow location for guests and entertainers of the most happening spot anywhere; Frank Sinatra's Cal Neva lodge. Since the 60's, the gambling era of Tahoe has dwindled, but its natural beauty, and love for fun have not. Located directly across from a sandy beach and small marina, allows guests dramatic views and convenient access to all North Lake Tahoe activities and attractions including biking, swimming, running, hiking, kayaking, wind surfing and skiing.

This North Shore lodge is located in Tahoe Vista, with easy access to Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar-at-Tahoe and five other ski resorts, making it an excellent choice for a winter vacation.

It's also just a short walk to some of the finest Californian and International cuisine in Lake Tahoe. The lodge is just 1 mile from North Tahoe Regional Park, a starting point for hiking and mountain biking trails, is less than 5 miles from a trailhead which accesses the beautiful 165 mile long Tahoe Rim Trail, and is within easy striking distance of all of Tahoe's communities, entertainment, and events. Whatever your Tahoe adventure entails the Firelite is a easy place to start from and come back to.

The lodge's bike rental option encourages an active, healthy, green, environment by promoting bikes as a mode of alternative transportation.
