Truckee Day

Truckee Day, a community-wide roadside clean up and block party, is held the first Saturday in June each year. Since its inception in 2003, an average of 7 tons of trash is collected annually by an average of 700 volunteers! Show your pride by stepping out to clean the streets.

When the roads are clean, join in the "Block Party" the same day to celebrate! The food is free for Truckee Day volunteers and there's a Green Expo and lots of activities.

The event has spread to include the North Shore of Lake Tahoe and includes the communities of Northstar, Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista and Tahoe City, all of whom have their own unique event, typically on the same day.

Registration is the day of the event at the check-in stations. Free t-shirts are available to volunteers on a first-come, first-served basis. In some neighborhoods the check-in station will be the local Fire Station; in other neighborhoods it will be the home or office of a Champion or a local merchant or business. Bags and instructions will be provided to volunteers the morning of the pick-up. The bags will be picked up by the Town's refuse collector.

The block party starts at noon at Regional Park in Truckee and features free lunch for all volunteers, live music, kids activities and a community expo.
