Yosemite Falls is the highest measured waterfall in North America. The total 739 meters (2,420 ft) from the top of the upper falls to the base of the lower falls qualifies Yosemite Falls as the sixth highest waterfall in the world.

The falls may not run all year around, depending on snow melt.

During the spring (April, May, and June) during full moon nights, the moon makes a rainbow at times. This phenomenon can be seen with a naked eye at most times.
