Mokelumne River Electra-Middle Bar Run

Rafting on the Electra Run, June 2009

Photo © Pete Bell

The Mokelumne's Electra-Middle Bar run, off Electra Road, flows from just above Highway 49 to the historic 1912 Middle Bar Bridge. It is eligible for designation as a National Wild and Scenic River. The lower portion of the Electra Run, above Highway 49, and the entire Middle Bar reach, from the Highway 49 Bridge to the Middle Bar Bridge, are threatened by a proposed dam included in the East Bay Municipal Utility District's 2040 water plan.

Without Wild and Scenic River protection, we may lose this beautiful river reach.
