In 2010, Cedar Glen Lodge was purchased by the current family ownership. Since then renovations and landscaping were meticulously designed with environmentally conscience planning and implementation.

All renovations at Cedar Glen Lodge were accomplished using reclaimed wood native to our area, installing energy efficient fixtures and low flow plumbing with recirculating pumps to efficiently and effectively provide hot water. Plastic waste was reduced by 98% by providing refillable Gilchrist and Soames amenities. Signage perched atop a pine cone is placed in every room that states "Lake Tahoe provides one of the freshest water sources in the country. Please enjoy our potable Tahoe water, save money and avoid plastic and landfill waste!" This simple and yet efficient sign, allows the guests to participate in the Eco-friendly efforts and drastically eliminates unnecessary plastic waste. To help reduce water and energy consumption, a towel and linen reuse program has been implemented. For the clean air conscience guests, a Tesla/Universal charging station was installed in 2014.
In 2012, Cedar Glen Lodge was the recipient of the Best in Basin Award by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. This award recognizes projects that demonstrate exceptional planning, design, and compatibility with Lake Tahoe and human environment while following the guidelines established by the agency.
