The water is cool, clear and surrounded by peaceful natural beauty at Lake Englebright and Skippers Cove Marina. Surprisingly, the lake level does not drop during the summer, but moves up and down by as much as 4 feet within 24 hours. The further up the lake you go the cooler the water becomes.
The lake provides plenty of space for the boating enthusiast, water skier or angler. Boats can be launched from one of two boat ramps located near the park's entrance. Due to narrow canyons and sharp bends, the upper 4 miles of the lake are not suitable for water skiiing and/or towing any type of inflatable device. Therefore, these activities are restricted to the lower five miles of the lake. A counter-clockwise direction of travel is strictly enforced for the safety of park visitors.
Picnic facilities are available at the Narrows Recreation Area. Each site has a picnic table, barbeque grill and lawn area. Enjoy a shore scenic hike to the dam overlook area or along the less strenuous fishing access trail.
You can find fish at the Marina, by the launch ramps, in all the inviting coves and Rice's Crossing. Some really nice size trout have been caught by throwing a worm-baited hook into the water at Buck's Beach or Rocky Bluff.
The campsites are only accessible by boat and are available on a first come first serve basis. However, they have not run out of available campsites, even on busy weekends. Each campsite includes a tent pad, a picnic table, a fire grill, a lantern hanger, an accessible restroom and plastic bags for pack-it/pack-it out camping.
The Store at Skippers Cove Marina offers supplies for all your boating and camping needs, including ice cold drinks and fishing and boating supplies. Also at the Marina, for your convenience are showers, laundry facilities, restrooms and an ATM machine. The restrooms provide 24hour access and the washers
